Staten Island Advance Article July 3, 2008
Phil Curcuru and his Atomik Age Project continue to make gentle ripples around the giant serene pond that is easy listening music. You'll likely remember the band from its YouTube sensation "The Ballad of Jim Cramer," a video and song by the band that found its way to the producers of Cramer's "Mad Money" show on CNBC and got a favorable - if biased - review. Now the band's hit two chart milestones at Broadjam.com, an international music provider and networking site. The band won first place for the instrumental track "Waiting" for the Web site's May songwriting contest and also hit the number one spot on the easy listening chart with its wanderlust song "Outer Roads." Next stop? Maybe a closing credits soundtrack for some ABC Family programming, or a commercial for RV-ing. Hey, you never know!

- Ben Johnson, AWE

Here are a few of our favorite things this week
Staten Islanders never cease to blow our minds with their capacity for AWEsomeness. This week's prime candidate? Phil Curcuru and his buddies The Atomik Age Project. The band of old friends reunited to, among other things, pen a bizarro pop song about Jim Cramer -- the over-caffeinated Wall Street analyst who hosts CNBC's "Mad Money." The tune is filled with investment advice by way of sound effects and Cramer yelling "Boooyah!" at the top of his lungs. The video for the song, reviewed favorably by Cramer himself, has over 4,000 views on YouTube.
